Favicon

Dear Mom,

We're getting ready to head to the Twin Cities. Our bags aren't packed yet and we still have a few things left to do but we'll somehow find our way to St. Paul. Lizzie and I have been rehearsing a lot and tightening the RNC version of the Tumbleweed Cabaret. It should be quite a show. Hope you can tune in. I've learned how to video cast so if you go to www.tumbleweedcabaret.com and go to the video link, you'll be able to watch it there live. It's amazing the technology today.

I just finished the Tumbleweed Cabaret website and am pretty pleased at how it looks. I've built a few website and each one gets a little better. The one thing I'm kind of excited about, be it a little tech geeky, is how to make the little picture icon that's to the left of the url field and windows when you browse. You know, like when you go to yahoo, there's a little red Y or to Google there's a blue G. I learned that that image thing is called a favicon. My word of the day. Favicon. So for the Tumbleweed Cabaret I made a little favicon of the ball of peace. I also made one for lizziewestlife.com. I think you'll be able to figure out what that is. If it doesn't appear when you go there, refresh your screen and it should appear.

We had a lovely time talking with Steve, Ruthy and Mrs. Melville this evening over a glass of wine and the DNC on ABC on mute. Mrs. Melville is a wealth of knowledge and history and both Lizzie and I enjoyed listening to her talk about some of the history of the Northwest part of Connecticut, and the depressing truth about the poverty in Hartford and New Haven. I look forward to more conversations with her when we return from the Midwest.

I wish we could have made it to see you on our trip to Minnesota. We're so close and it would be so nice to visit you, Dad and Mike but we haven't had a week in I don't know how many months where we haven't had to go somewhere so we're feeling a little road weary. I have been in contact with Sarah Minette though and I think I'm going to see her while we're in the Twin Cities. It will be great to see her. I can't remember the last time we saw each other.

Well, my eyes are a little itchy and ready for bed. We've got a long few days ahead of us. I'm going to try and do some short, 1 picture blogs from the phone. I haven't figured out how to add more than one picture from my phone but how cool is it that I can blog from my phone.

Love you, Baba
